Google has improved access to Gmail from Android devices and iPhones , pointing to a potential trend toward more Web- and browser-based mobile applications. Java and xml. XML handles the Android interface and Java does all the work behind the scenes. Definately learn Java first, become somwhat understanding of xml, then dive into Android resources because Android does have it's own libraries and such.
