I had this exact same thing happen with my Samsung A900M. While I don't remember the exat version of google maps used, i had updated it within the last 3 months. It would progressively take longer and longer to load and to exit each time. It wasn't that much of an annoyance as I used google maps but once or twice a month. Finally on

Yes, the Saved Locations are needed. It is better to be able to call up the locations by name instead of having to remember the actual address. I recently installed (updated to) Google Maps 2.03 on my Blackberry 8703e. I wish there was a way to disable the My Location feature because I use a Bluetooth GPS device with Google Maps. I find that the My Location feature is useless since it only is accurate within 1700 meters, where as my Bluetooth GPS gives accuracy within 20 meters
